How to Brainstorm Quickly and Efficiently

When the average human tries to think about a specific topic for a long period of time, he or she will often be faced with problems of concentration. If you try it, you will find that your mind often wanders to other topics that you are not trying to deal with. Brainstorming is a very exact science, and by altering a few things in your environment, you can become the thinking machine that you need to be. Just follow some of these proven brainstorming tips, and hopefully you will be able to get yourself in to the mental condition you need to be in to solve your problem.

There are two reasons why you would brainstorm. The first is to think of the best approach to a problem that is facing you. The second is to think of some sort of creative direction for something that isn’t quite as urgent. You will find that the urgency of having a problem to solve will often lead to much more productive brainstorming sessions, and more ideas being written down. Either way, it doesn’t hurt to be alone with your thoughts and try to come up with some things that could help you out.

You should never go into a brainstorming session with some sort of stress on your mind. If you’re worried about meeting a deadline or getting something done, you will be more likely to stop the creative flow within your brain. So get everything done before you try to brainstorm, or at least do your best to push it out of your mind. This will help free up more of your brain to devote to the question at hand. It also helps to get yourself to a completely solitary place in which you can do your brainstorming without being disturbed by things that are outside of your own mind.

The number one thing you can do to increase your brainstorming power is to free your brain from thinking about other issues. Think of your brain as a computer. If the computer is busy running one process that is eating up all of its computational power, it won’t be able to devote its full strength to running the important programs.

Brainstorming Rules to Maximize Your Brain Power

Too much of thought is spent on useless things for it to be truly helpful in tackling a big issue. If you have something you are trying to brainstorm about, you will probably run into a few problems if it is your first time brainstorming. It can be hard to focus on the problem at hand in order to find the best solution. You may also spend time thinking in directions that won’t end up helping you find the final solution. Therefore, you should follow certain brainstorming rules that have been used by brainnstormers for years. They will help you get started with the best brainstorming session.

The first rule of brainstorming is to ignore absolutely no idea. Anything that comes to you during the brainstorming process is one more idea than you had before, and therefore should not be discounted. Even if you think it is absolutely ridiculous when it first comes to you, you should write it down anyway. You may find it is more possible than you realized before, or that you can build a working plan off of its basic premise.

You should always keep either a piece of paper or a tape recorder with you during your brainstorming session. Either of these will allow you to record everything that comes to you, and maximize your brainstorming session. You can buy nice dictating tape recorders that will switch on whenever you start talking. These are often hailed as one of the best ways to keep track of your thoughts during a brainstorming session. Afterwards if you forget an idea, you can just hit the rewind key and listen to your very moment of revelation once again.

Once you are done, you may be faced with a horde of great ideas, or you may have found absolutely nothing. But brainstorming is a powerful process that allows you to unlock the vast resource that is your own mind, and allow you to think of the problem from a different standpoint and possibly be able to think of something. So give it a try. It will only take a short while, and may give you something that you never thought was possible.

How to Organize a Brainstorming Group to Tackle Large Problems

Have you noticed a problem in your community that needs to be solved? Does your business need a new plan of action in order to keep afloat? There are many problems that need to be solved on a day to day basis. The old phrase "two heads are better than one" will always be true. Therefore, you should consider starting a brainstorming group to figure out how to solve whatever problem you have been faced with. You may find that the collective intelligence and knowledge of your group will combine to provide the answer to whatever problem is in question. As long as you are properly organized and efficient in trying to discover the answer to the problem, you will find that it is a great method. You might ask yourself a few questions to fulfill the requirements for the group.

These methods are used in most modern day companies and businesses, and can be used by anyone at any level. The methods are preformed when a group of colleagues and co-workers sit down, and have a chat about what needs to be changed for the better of the company. By doing this small task they can create a better business and a better environment for the patrons that would be willing to go to the location.

Many people ask what good comes from such a thing. The answer is simple: everything. By doing a small simple task such as this, it will benefit you greatly in the long run. The main thing that can come from such a thing is that the business will prosper and come to a better stance than it was before.

So when is the right time to arrange a meeting for such an occasion? When there’s a problem, or the business is failing. Most businesses have this group to only secure that their business is running smoothly and successful. These techniques are to ensure that the business does not fail, and has some type of change in the environment when it’s necessary.

So who do you choose for such a task? Highly skilled and imaginative thinkers who are willing to look at everything. Not just the positive assessments, but everything in between. The people that need to be required for such a task need to be open to other’s ideas and willing to accept what needs to be done, for the better of the company. The more personnel you have on your team the better you off your business will be. These steps will help you out to hopefully plan and acquire a team of barnstormers and do more for the business.

Brainstorming to Overcome Writer’s Block

If you are working on a piece of writing such as a short story or novel, you may find that it is easy to get stuck. This is known as writer’s block, and has been driving writers crazy for as long as language has been around. There are many ways that people make efforts to overcome writers block. Whether they work or not depends on your situation and your personality, but it is worth a try if you think it will get you back on the right track. But I have found that there is almost nothing that a good brainstorming session can’t overcome. So if you are stuck in a plot or in a narrative, you should try to brainstorm for a while and see if the answer doesn’t come to you in some sort of epiphany.

Many authors choose to map out the entire route that the book has taken so far. This includes a map of all the characters and how they relate to each other, and a chart of how the plot has progressed so far. If an author looks this over during a brainstorming session, he might be able to figure out what the next logical (or illogical, depending on what kind of writer you are) step in the plot is. It also may allow him to get his regular thoughts in order before he tries to go into extra powerful thought mode.

An author may also choose to immerse himself in other masterpieces in order to get some inspiration. This may sound like he is trying to steal plot twists or copy the work of another author. On the contrary, the ailing author will simply become so inspired by the finished work that he is able to continue on his own. It has happened before in the past many times. So if you suffer from writer’s block, pick up whatever novels are on the current bestsellers list, or go to the library and get some old classics.

You may also attempt to relate the brainstorming back to your own life. What has happened to you recently? Sometimes the every day events of our lives can act as the most interesting plot twists. Of course you will have to embellish the event a bit in order to captivate your audience, but that should come easy once you have the basic idea down.

Using Brainstorming to Tackle a Problem

Whenever there is a large issue or problem that needs to be dealt with, few things can work as well as a brainstorming session in order to come up with the solution. If you are able to efficiently gather your thoughts for a while and focus on the question at hand, then you will be able to solve the problem quickly and with much less mental stress than usual. The key to brainstorming is to create the perfect environment, both physical and mental, for you to think as hard as possible. So if you need to do some brainstorming, follow some of these guidelines and you will be able to maximize your efforts.

First, you should completely remove any surrounding things which may distract you from the task at hand. Completely isolate yourself from the outside world. When you are brainstorming, you need to be completely alone with your thoughts, and possibly a piece of paper and a pencil to record them as they come to you. So don’t turn on music because you think it helps your brain speed up. The best thing you could do is sit in a completely quiet room with your eyes closed, and think very hard about the issue at hand.

Once you are in the ideal conditions, ideas will start to come to you extremely quickly. The process shouldn’t take more than a few minutes of meditation until you start to think of ideas. Once things start to come to you, write them down on the piece of paper that you bring along with you. Write down everything you think of. When you are brainstorming, there is no answer that should be thought of as too dumb to write down. Once you are done with the session of brainstorming, you can start to cross things off your list. But until then, you can’t be selective in your thoughts, as it will get in the way of your other thoughts.

Once you are done with the brainstorming session, you hopefully have a nice little list of things that you have thought of. If you don’t, then don’t worry. A big problem requires lots of effort to solve, and you could spend many hours brainstorming before you figure out what you will do.
